Where can I use Climate?
Climate is available exclusively inside the SifG22 app for Android. Download the app, open it and go to Climate. There's no version of Climate for the browser, iOS or Windows.
What weather information can I check?
Climate offers weather forecasts and a detailed hourly forecast to see how the weather is expected to evolve throughout the day. It also brings together AEMET warnings and emergency safety tips.
Are AEMET warnings and Climate alerts the same thing?
They're different features. AEMET weather warnings report expected severe weather. Climate ES-ALERTS are the app's own alerts, with settings and sound notifications.
Are Climate ES-ALERTS the official ES-Alert?
No. Climate ES-ALERTS is the name of the app's own alerts. The official ES-Alert system belongs to Spain's Civil Protection authorities and works independently. Setting up Climate doesn't configure or replace your phone's official alerts.
Can I configure the alerts and their sound?
Yes. Climate lets you configure its own alerts. Check the options available in the app and SifG22's notification permissions on Android. Delivery and sound also depend on your device's settings and restrictions; they're not guaranteed to override silent mode or Do Not Disturb.
What are the safety tips for?
They let you look up guidance to prepare and act with more information in emergency situations. They complement the weather information; during an emergency, follow the instructions of the authorities and emergency services.
Can the forecast change?
Yes. A forecast describes how the weather is expected to evolve and it can change. Check the information again before an activity and review any warnings that could affect your plans.
